A 20th Anniversary Refresh

This recent commercial decorating project in Middlewich required our team to deliver an industrial floor refresh for a large local business in the town, as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations. They wanted the business to look a bit more modern and to give staff and visitors a brighter, fresher work environment.

The building itself is bright and airy, with a large open-plan reception and office space leading directly to the manufacturing area, connected by a large glass partition. So there was a real need to brighten up the back area, as a complement to the more modern ‘front of house’.

The existing flooring had never actually been refreshed. While it was still in great structural condition and certainly didn’t need replacing, years of daily use had started to take its toll. Scratches, worn areas and tired colour sections were making the space look less sharp than the business wanted.

As experienced commercial decorators, our job was to give the floor a clean, durable and modern finish that both suited the busy industrial environment and looked good. It’s often the case, as the before images below show, the original grey and off-white flooring, had lost its shine and become dull over time. The space was functional, but it needed a stronger visual impact.

A Bold New Finish

For this project, the colour scheme was kept simple but striking and aligned with company branding. We used a bright white paint to open up the space, strong blue to define key working areas and extra-durable green to mark clear pathways through the building. The result is a much fresher, cleaner and more organised environment.

Tough, Chemical-Resistant Industry-Friendly Finishes

Naturally, we used paints that were up to the job, chosen specifically to handle heavy foot traffic, machinery, equipment, pallets and daily wear without breaking down. Good industrial floor paint also has to reduce the chance of slips and for this project, as there was some movement of cleaning products and dangerous substances, senior management went with our recommendation of a chemically resistant finish. A very slight increase in costs for many, many years of safer working conditions.

The blue sections help frame the industrial equipment and give the floor a smart, professional look. The white areas make the whole building feel lighter and more spacious. The green walkways add a practical safety element while also creating a bold contrast.

Best of all, as areas of the new-look floor begin wearing, future refreshes should be a lot quicker and easier!

The Finished Result

Another satisfied customer and another example of our commercial decorating expertise - where the aim was not to completely reinvent a space, but to restore pride in it. The finished floor looks cleaner, brighter and far more modern, while still being practical for day-to-day business use.

For a company celebrating 20 years locally, the refresh gave the premises the lift it deserved. Not everything in life gets a glow-up this sensible, sadly.
